Senior Data Analyst - Strategy & Commercial

About the role

Back Market, a global marketplace for refurbished devices, is expanding its Data, Analytics & Insights team and is opening three analytical ownership roles at once: Strategy & Commercial, Customer Care and Shipping & Logistics. This role focuses on Strategy & Commercial Analytics. You will own your domain end-to-end, from data model to boardroom decisions, partnering with senior leadership and shaping the questions they ask.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and diagnose commercial performance for Central Europe on a weekly basis, with proactive course-correction plans
• Contribute to 12M+ sales forecasting and P&L budgeting, turning initiative impacts into tactical recommendations
• Build data models and tooling that surface actionable pricing signals to commercial and revenue teams
• Enable self-service access to pricing and supply health data across the organisation
• Mentor junior analysts at Staff level and shape the team's approach to problems

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, or equivalent hands-on analytical ownership
• Experience in business analytics, commercial strategy or a customer-facing operations domain (marketplace, e-commerce, logistics)
• Rigorous analytical mindset, understanding causal versus correlational reasoning and able to design measurement frameworks
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills
• Nice to have: pricing/revenue management experience, Zendesk/Intercom familiarity, and experience designing A/B tests or incrementality measurements

Required skills

• Strong SQL proficiency with large, complex datasets
• Data warehouse: Google BigQuery
• Transformation: dbt
• Visualization and BI: Omni, Amplitude
• Python (very useful); nice to have for statistical work and automation
