Teacher Assistant – Early Childhood Support

About the role

The Teacher Assistant supports a safe, nurturing learning environment for young children, assisting with daily care, instructional activities, and social‑emotional development.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain safety and safeguarding standards, supervise children indoors and outdoors, and report incidents promptly.
• Support social‑emotional growth by fostering respectful relationships and managing behavior calmly.
• Adapt instructional activities to diverse learning needs, work with small groups, and reinforce curriculum goals.
• Assist with caregiving routines such as diaper changes, feeding, snack time, and hygiene practices.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and school events, and perform tasks directed by the Principal or Preschool Director.

Required profile

• High School Diploma.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform physical tasks such as squatting, pushing, and pulling.
• Willingness to undergo a federal criminal background check covering the past 10 years.
• Commitment to safeguarding, diversity, equity, inclusion, and continuous learning.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Type II state regulations, school policies, and emergency procedures.
• Basic record‑keeping for health and safety standards.
