Assistant Teacher

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Teacher to support a safe, nurturing early childhood environment at our Kehoe‑France Northshore campus. The role involves assisting with daily classroom activities, ensuring student safety, and contributing to the school’s educational mission.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure learning environment, supervise children indoors and outdoors, follow safeguarding guidelines, and promptly report incidents.
• Foster social‑emotional development by promoting positive relationships, managing behavior, and modeling appropriate social skills.
• Support instructional delivery by adapting activities, working with small groups, and collaborating with teachers to reinforce curriculum.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and perform tasks assigned by the Principal or Preschool Director.

Required profile

• High School Diploma (minimum education requirement).
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, squatting, and standing for extended periods.
• Successful completion of criminal background checks covering the past 10 years and adherence to safeguarding principles.
• Commitment to the school’s values of safety, respect, operational effectiveness, financial responsibility, and continuous learning.
