Operations Consultant - Performance Transformation (Associate / Engagement Manager)

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Operations team, part of the Performance Transformation practice, helps clients shape the future of their operations so they can achieve strategic goals and deliver sustainable, industry-leading performance. The team works on four pillars: Value Sourcing/Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Process Operations, and Digital Operations. This Associate / Engagement Manager position in Paris involves supporting clients and managing small teams.

Key responsibilities

• Break down complex problems into discrete tasks, identify the key aspects of a problem and direct the focus of junior consultants to those elements.
• Plan and execute analysis, identify core issues in complex analyses and craft suitable recommendations.
• Work side by side with clients and project team members to move projects forward.
• Manage small teams to get the work done.

Required profile

• At least 4-8 years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm or similar, or with industry experience from a strategy department or in-house consulting.
• In-depth knowledge of the sector, gained through industry experience or other consultancy houses.
• Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program.
• Fluency in English and French is required.
• Willingness to travel.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and synthesis skills, able to conduct sophisticated analyses, identify trends and present recommendations.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in formal and informal settings.
• Aptitude for analytical work, such as finding key issues in large data sets.

The firm offers a hybrid work arrangement: colleagues must be in the local office or onsite with clients at least three days per week, with at least one anchor day per week in person for office-based teams.
