International Consultant for OzonAction Communications and Outreach

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking an International Consultant to support OzonAction’s communications and outreach activities. Working remotely, the consultant will help design, develop and deliver campaign materials for key initiatives such as World Refrigeration Day, World Ozone Day, INWIC, and the Kigali 10th Anniversary.

Key responsibilities

• Develop three concept options for the World Refrigeration Day 2026 campaign, including narratives, target audiences, key messages and indicative elements.
• Produce a full campaign proposal for the selected concept, detailing messaging, visual assets and implementation plan.
• Create outreach materials (e.g., videos, exhibition content, newsletters) for OzonAction’s various programmes and events.
• Collaborate with the Partnership Programme Officer, Senior Programme Manager Officer and Head of OzonAction to ensure timely delivery of all communications outputs.
• Support the preparation of reports, briefs and promotional content aligned with UNEP’s communication standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in designing and executing communication campaigns, preferably in an environmental or international development context.
• Ability to work independently under supervision of senior programme staff and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal English skills.
• Familiarity with UNEP’s OzonAction mandate and the Montreal Protocol is advantageous.
