Head of Finance – Lead Financial Strategy & Operations

About the role

This senior finance position is based in France and will be the first in‑house finance leader for a fast‑growing, consumer‑focused digital business. You will design and scale the finance function, providing strategic insight to the executive team while ensuring rigorous reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial modeling, forecasting, scenario analysis, headcount planning and cash‑flow management.
• Own the budgeting process and deliver clear visibility into financial trade‑offs, risks and performance drivers.
• Maintain investor‑ready models, reporting structures and board materials for fundraising and strategic discussions.
• Oversee inventory accounting, cost controls and reconciliation of revenue, expenses, cash flow and COGS.
• Strengthen profitability, margin and unit‑economics reporting with timely, accurate data.
• Establish robust financial controls, audit‑ready processes and reliable month‑end close procedures.
• Partner with department leaders to align budgets, monitor spend and improve decision‑making.
• Develop contingency and scenario planning frameworks to support business resilience.
• Serve as the organization’s financial “source of truth,” consolidating and standardising data and reporting systems.

Required profile

• 5‑10+ years of experience in finance, FP&A, accounting or operational finance, preferably in high‑growth or startup environments.
• Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting and strategic planning.
• Proven experience managing inventory‑heavy or product‑based financial operations.
• Advanced accounting knowledge; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Ability to balance strategic advisory responsibilities with hands‑on financial execution.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks or Sage.
