Banker – Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) – Expert I

About the role

Santander CIB is seeking a high‑performing Banker to join its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Coverage team in Paris. You will work with leading banks, insurers, asset managers and public‑sector entities across France, Belgium and Luxembourg, delivering tailored financing and market solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow relationships with a portfolio of Financial Institutions, engaging senior decision‑makers such as Treasury teams, CIOs, CFOs and Portfolio Managers.
• Originate and coordinate business opportunities across the full suite of Santander CIB solutions, including DCM, ECM, securitisation, market products (rates, credit, investment solutions), financings, cash management, trade finance and securities services.
• Collaborate with product specialists and the international network to design and deliver integrated client solutions.
• Contribute to client strategy definition and execution, focusing on revenue generation, disciplined capital deployment, cross‑selling and long‑term value creation.
• Oversee credit, risk, compliance and regulatory aspects in partnership with relevant internal teams, and monitor profitability metrics and internal reviews.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Corporate & Investment Banking, either in coverage, product teams or a treasury/markets division of a financial institution.
• Strong understanding of financial institutions and corporate banking products, particularly financial markets; insurance sector knowledge is a plus.
• Proven commercial mindset with the ability to build long‑term client relationships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of thriving in a demanding international environment.
• Fluent in French and English; Spanish is an advantage.
