Academic Head (Full-Time)

About the role

Galileo is looking for a full-time Academic Head in Montreuil to supervise, coordinate and manage all academic activities of a specific disciplinary area of the department. The role represents educational excellence, guarantees high student satisfaction and leads course leaders and faculty in planning courses, defining the didactic organisation and monitoring the quality of teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Innovation: monitor education-sector trends and propose strategic guidelines to improve the academic offer, and supervise feasibility and business planning for new projects
• Course planning and delivery: oversee course planning with Academic Services, guide course leaders, lecturers and students, monitor the budget and approve purchase requests and compensation exceptions
• Faculty leadership: define faculty, confirm and recruit lecturers, monitor performance, balance employed and external teachers, mentor course leaders and monitor student satisfaction
• People management: develop resources' skills, plan and assign work, approve holidays and leave, recruit staff, ensure compliance with policies and ethics, and keep documentation up to date
• Non-academic support: take part in promotional events, approve communications, support enrollment and career services, and help build links with institutions and companies
• Teaching: deliver lectures, exams, thesis supervision, consulting hours, course projects and workshops
