Consulting Faculty Position (Associate Professor or Professor of Practice)

About the role

emlyon business school is looking for a highly motivated consultant to join its faculty in Lyon, starting full time in September 2025. The position is teaching-oriented, at Associate Professor level or Professor of Practice level, and focuses on consulting postures, approaches, tools and methodologies. It is affiliated with the ODAI department (Operations, Data & Artificial Intelligence) and works closely with the Strategy and Marketing departments.

Key responsibilities

• Teach in French and English, mainly at Grande Ecole (PGE) level and to a lesser extent at master and executive levels, mostly at the new Lyon campus and sometimes elsewhere.
• Coordinate the existing course package, including the network of professional lecturers, and help design and teach new courses in general consulting.
• Contribute to an ambitious consulting roadmap across programs and internationally, and mentor and supervise Master/BBA/MSc students.
• Provide expertise on subjects beyond consulting (industry, health, consumer goods, supply chain, financial services, etc.) and publish in professional or academic journals.

Required profile

• Strong teaching orientation and leadership to coordinate a network of professionals from consulting companies.
• Proven teaching experience in French and English at undergraduate, master and executive levels, in general consulting approaches, recruitment and/or tools and methods.
• Ability to combine theory with practice and to build relationships with practitioners.
• Networks with major consulting firms and willingness to work laterally with colleagues across programs.
• Associate Professor track: PhD required; Professor of Practice track: PhD not required.
• French is mandatory, with fluent English.
