IT Operations Manager – Virtual Workstations for Simulation

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking an IT Operations Manager to lead the Virtual Workstations platform used for helicopter simulation. The role is part of the Digital team EIIDEC – Scientific Computing in Marignane, France, supporting over 400 simulation engineers with high‑performance computing resources.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure availability, robustness and performance of ~140 Windows and Linux virtual workstations (P3NG) and meet OLA/SLAs.
• Manage incident, problem, change, configuration and event processes.
• Diagnose errors, coordinate corrective actions with technical teams and vendors.
• Plan and execute updates of platform components, including master images and simulation applications.
• Identify and implement technologies and processes to improve reliability, efficiency and availability.
• Communicate with end users, Digital teams, management and other Airbus divisions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT operations of complex technical environments.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization (VDI/Citrix), hardware infrastructure, Windows and Linux (RHEL 7‑9) administration.
• Experience with Active Directory, NIS domains, application deployment, network storage, network flows and firewall rules.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow and ITIL processes (incident, problem, change, service‑level management).
• Good communication skills, stakeholder management and fluency in English.
