Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Technology Specialist

About the role

The VDI Technology Specialist will join the Extended Enterprise Product Service Line at Airbus Helicopters, supporting the design, implementation and operation of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (also called VAD) solutions for both 2D and 3D use cases.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver VDI/VAD solutions, supporting solution architects during project definition.
• Develop and run proof‑of‑concepts (POCs) to validate new VDI technologies.
• Define Airbus Helicopters’ technological orientation for VDI infrastructure and services.
• Act as the VDI escalation point, resolving complex incidents on Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops platforms.
• Build business cases for emerging VDI technologies and update company guidelines.
• Monitor VDI trends, advise on technology selection and support cross‑divisional initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in IT operations with strong background in operating systems, networking and cyber security.
• Proven expertise in VDI/VAD and Citrix solutions (Netscaler mandatory, Omnissa Horizon a plus).
• Customer‑service orientation, ability to analyse requirements and deliver quality solutions.
• Fluent negotiation skills in French and English; willingness to travel regularly in Europe.
