iOS Software Engineer

About the role

amo is looking for an iOS engineer to join its iOS team in Paris. The team takes part in all design and product decisions during the early days of a product-centric company, working closely with the founding team before gradually taking ownership of central components and features. The company values engineers who go deep in their domain and take ownership of their scope.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, unique UI in a fast-moving environment, including advanced iOS techniques such as shaders for media effects
• Contribute to platform development: abstractions used by other iOS developers (media encoding, decoding and playback, performance tracing tools, navigation and deeplinks across apps)
• Take part in roadmap creation and ideation, helping identify trade-offs from product and engineering perspectives
• Share knowledge through conferences, online communities and internal talks
• Monitor analytics, manage system crashes and proactively triage bug fixes

Required profile

• Professional experience in native iOS development using Swift or Objective-C
• Good understanding of computer systems fundamentals (memory, cache friendliness, linking, multithreading)
• Experience building consumer-facing products
• Multiple experience levels are hired; candidates indicate their years of experience on the application form

Required skills

• Swift or Objective-C
• C or C++ is a big plus
• OpenGL or Metal graphics programming is a plus
