Data Engineer

About the role

Alan is building a prevention insurance platform that combines insurance, prevention and care, and is expanding rapidly across Europe and Canada. Its Data Foundations team builds and maintains the Data Platform used by everyone at the company, so that every decision about members' care, contracts and claims is data-driven. The Data Engineer joins this small, high-leverage team and works daily with the whole Data community.

Key responsibilities

• Build, maintain and improve the Data Platform used by the company.
• Partner with technical and non-technical colleagues to understand their needs and build data solutions they can trust.
• Own and manage the data-related tools powering Alan.AI, including secure access to the data warehouse for humans and AI agents.
• Improve the developer experience when building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Strengthen security and governance around data assets and define standard data practices.
• Maintain and evolve the core data infrastructure to support international expansion.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in data positions; early-career to senior profiles are welcome.
• Experience building and operating production data infrastructure: orchestration (Airflow or similar), a cloud data warehouse and infrastructure as code.
• Experience designing systems, tools or libraries used by other engineers, scientists or analysts.
• Fluent English, spoken and written; French is not required.
