User Research UX Apprentice

About the role

Back Market is a global marketplace for refurbished devices. Its User Research team gathers insights about what users need through qualitative and quantitative techniques and turns them into information for the product and design teams. As a User Research (UX) Apprentice, you will work on the e-commerce experience, give actionable recommendations for improvement, help improve research processes, tools and communications, and work closely with business and product teams to foster a user-centered approach.

Key responsibilities

• Bring together business people, designers, product owners and engineers to build, maintain and evolve a robust customer experience
• Listen to business problems and help craft action plans
• Conduct qualitative research to collect insights and build strong recommendations
• Launch quantitative studies to discover trends and validate hypotheses
• Work with product designers so that recommendations have maximum impact
• Present results to the company and make sure the value of research is understood
• Contribute to developing the UX Research team with colleagues

Required profile

• Looking for an apprenticeship; English is fully professional, other languages are a bonus
• Experience or convincing knowledge of research best practices (qualitative and quantitative methods)
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• E-commerce experience is a plus but not required
• Already enrolled in a work-study program in a French school (contrat d'alternance / apprentissage)

Required skills

• Qualitative and quantitative research methods such as usability testing, observational research, user interviews, surveys, card sorts and contextual inquiry
• English at a fully professional level

What we offer

• Apprenticeship starting in January 2027, ideally for 24 months (12 months to be discussed)
• Hybrid work: 2 remote days a week and 1 remote work week per quarter, plus 3 flex days

The recruitment process includes a skills-fit and technical interview with the direct manager, a cultural-fit interview with another team member, and a video call with the Campus Talent Acquisition Specialist.
