Tax Manager – Direct Tax (Remote, France)

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Manager specialized in Direct Tax to lead our international tax compliance efforts. Based in France and working fully remotely, you will collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure accurate filing, risk mitigation, and strategic tax planning across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee global direct tax compliance, including corporate income tax and withholding tax returns.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors to manage filings, documentation, and reporting obligations.
• Identify and mitigate direct tax risks, maintaining strong relationships with tax authorities.
• Support and manage tax audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries.
• Provide strategic tax advice on international transactions, corporate structures, and business expansion.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in international tax legislation, treaties, and EU directives.
• Collaborate with finance, legal, HR, and other functions to ensure seamless tax reporting.
• Mentor tax professionals and drive process improvements through automation and AI tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience in international direct taxation within a multinational or professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of global corporate tax regulations, cross‑border taxation, tax treaties, EU directives, and compliance requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics, Accounting, Finance or related field; Master’s in Taxation is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and lead or mentor tax teams.
• Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Fluent English; additional languages are advantageous.
