Senior Software Engineer

About the role

C12 is a fast‑growing quantum‑computing startup in Paris, building a universal quantum computer using carbon‑nanotube processors. The Senior Software Engineer will lead the development of the core quantum measurement software framework that powers experiments and bridges R&D with engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop a high‑performance, maintainable quantum measurement software framework.
• Translate complex experimental requirements from R&D into robust, scalable software solutions.
• Define the unified architecture for instrument control, high‑throughput data storage, and measurement orchestration.
• Champion rigorous software practices, including code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of continuous learning.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building robust backend or data‑intensive applications.
• Proficiency in Python; willingness to master its ecosystem.
• Familiarity with message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ, Kafka) and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience with orchestration tools like Prefect or Airflow is a strong plus.
• Background in physics, engineering, or another quantitative field is advantageous.
