Senior Manager, Product Design - Security
Datadog · Madrid
Job description
About the role
Datadog's Security design team (K9 Design) is hiring a senior product design manager in Madrid to lead design across its security products. The team turns a large amount of signal into something a security team can act on, building the security product people want to spend their day in. The role partners closely with Product and Engineering leadership, and the company operates as a hybrid workplace.
Key responsibilities
- Lead design direction across the team's products, holding the bar for design excellence end to end: interactions, visual detail, consistency and cohesion.
- Run critiques, give direct and useful feedback, and push the team toward bolder, more opinionated solutions.
- Coach and grow designers across the Paris, Madrid and New York offices.
- Help define a security design system built on top of Datadog's existing components, with security practitioners' workflows in mind.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to evolve cross-platform thinking, shape roadmaps and set how the three disciplines work together day to day.
- Take accountability for the product and business outcomes influenced by the team's design work.
- Bring AI fluency to how the team explores, validates and ships design.
Required profile
- 10+ years in design, including experience leading and growing high-performing teams.
- A design leader first: a user advocate with a sharp eye for detail, strong taste and willingness to give direct feedback.
- Track record of improving a team's output, with before-and-after examples of how leadership transformed a product's design.
- Experience leading complex products or features, such as a zero-to-one launch or a reimagining of an established offering.
- Strong communicator who collaborates with executive and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ideally security domain experience, or a portfolio of information-dense, data-rich interfaces; industry-leading work on complex B2B, B2C or consumer products also counts.
Required skills
- AI fluency, demonstrated in personal work or in leading teams through it.
- Comfort navigating the technical complexity of modern software development and cloud infrastructure.
What we offer
- Product training and continuous career development with internal mobility paths.
- Intradepartmental mentor and buddy program, and access to employee resource groups.
- New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan.
- Global mental health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+, plus generous global benefits.
