Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Photoroom is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to own the pricing system across all its products (iOS, Android, Web, API). You will drive product‑growth initiatives, shape the pricing architecture, and iterate quickly based on fast user feedback.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the end‑to‑end pricing system, handling millions of users.
• Monitor performance and reliability using Datadog, and optimise releases.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product owners, and other backend teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Optimise existing endpoints to reduce latency and support scaling.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Django and Django Rest Framework.
• Proven ability to work with relational databases at scale (PostgreSQL/MySQL >100 GB) and design performant schemas.
• Experience scaling SaaS and subscription management systems (Stripe, RevenueCat).
• Hands‑on experience delivering APIs in close collaboration with frontend teams.
• Pragmatic, fast‑iteration mindset with strong ownership and decision‑making skills.
• Fluent English; French not required.
