Senior Back-end Engineer

About the role

ScorePlay is the AI‑powered media infrastructure used by major sports organisations to manage, search and share massive amounts of video content. We are looking for a Senior Back‑end Engineer to own technical subjects across the platform, set the direction of a squad end‑to‑end and ship features that reach the world’s biggest clubs and leagues.

Key responsibilities

• Lead subjects from design through production, delivering end‑to‑end solutions that process 145M+ minutes of video each month.
• Write and defend RFCs for structural decisions such as new datastores, message brokers or third‑party services.
• Co‑design features with product managers and technical leadership, pushing back on product decisions when necessary.
• Mentor and level up fellow engineers through code reviews, pairing and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend experience, including at least 1 year building production services in Go.
• Solid experience with web architectures, event‑driven systems and data‑heavy applications, with a track record of designing large‑scale systems.
• Strong ownership mindset: take ambiguous problems to shipped solutions and care about post‑deployment reliability.
• Remote‑first mindset, comfortable working from anywhere in Europe and participating in regular team gatherings.
