Regional Finance Director

About the role

The Regional Finance Director will be based in France and will lead financial strategy, oversight, and operational excellence across a complex international portfolio. This senior position combines global financial leadership with hands‑on support for multi‑country operations, donor‑funded programmes and strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and governance for regional finance teams, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and donor requirements.
• Monitor financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Oversee regional accounting functions, ensuring accurate reporting, timely reconciliations and strong internal controls.
• Support country teams with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and resource allocation.
• Review audit findings, drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Advise senior leadership with financial insights, risk analysis and recommendations for strategic decision‑making.
• Lead recruitment, coaching, mentoring and development of finance staff to build capability.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior finance roles within international or multi‑country environments.
• Proven track record of managing donor‑funded programmes and complex funding structures.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance and audit processes.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and talent development skills.
