Project Cost Controller

About the role

The Project Cost Controller, under the supervision of the D&C CAPEX control manager, helps manage and control costs associated with data centre projects in the company portfolio. This role involves monitoring project budgets, analysing financial data, forecasting expenditures and ensuring that financial objectives are met.

Key responsibilities

• Budget Management – develop and maintain project budgets with project managers, monitor performance and report on financial status.
• Cost Tracking and Analysis – implement cost‑control procedures, track expenses, identify discrepancies and prepare cost performance reports.
• Reporting – generate regular financial reports, including forecasts, variance analyses and profitability assessments for senior management.
• Change Management – evaluate and process change orders and additional funding requests, assess financial impact and ensure proper documentation.
• Collaboration – work closely with project managers, engineers and procurement teams to align on financial goals and resolve cost‑related issues.
• Compliance and Best Practices – ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards and relevant regulations, and promote cost‑control best practices.
• Forecasting – develop and maintain cost‑forecasting models and analyse historical data to improve future budgeting.

Required profile

• Education – Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management or a related field.
• Experience – minimum 5 years in project cost control, financial analysis or project management, preferably in data‑centre or construction projects.
• Qualifications – proficient with project‑management software and financial‑modelling tools, professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Cost Engineer) are a plus, SOX knowledge and fluent English.
