Product and Engineering Director

About the role

We are looking for a senior leader to head the Product and Engineering function for DATA4’s data centre campuses across Europe. The role will define and drive product standards, lead multidisciplinary design teams and ensure engineering excellence from concept to hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain data centre product design standards and ensure consistency across all European campuses.
• Lead multidisciplinary design teams, review and approve conceptual to detailed designs, and provide technical governance throughout feasibility, master‑planning and construction phases.
• Represent DATA4 in project meetings, stakeholder workshops and regulatory discussions, and support construction teams in resolving complex engineering issues.
• Drive continuous improvement by monitoring industry trends, promoting sustainability, low‑carbon strategies and innovative BIM‑based workflows.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Architecture Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in design and construction of mission‑critical facilities, data centres or large industrial projects.
• Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary design teams and managing external consultants.
• Fluent English; ability to work across France, Italy and Spain.

Required skills

• Whole‑data‑centre engineering expertise.
• Knowledge of European building codes, structural standards and construction regulations.
• Strong experience with BIM methodologies, Revit and digital design coordination.
• Understanding of sustainability principles, low‑carbon construction and embodied carbon reduction.
