Privacy Legal Counsel

About the role

Mistral AI is seeking an experienced Privacy Legal Counsel to lead its GDPR compliance efforts. You will work closely with product and engineering teams, providing legal guidance on data protection matters and drafting essential compliance documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain GDPR compliance documentation, including records of processing activities, DPIAs, and internal policies.
• Handle data subject requests and implement automated GDPR processes.
• Lead employee privacy training programs.
• Negotiate Data Processing Agreements with providers and customers.
• Monitor evolving privacy regulations and supervisory authority guidance.
• Advise product teams on privacy implications of new features and update documentation accordingly.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in law; bar admission is a plus.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a law firm or tech company focusing on IT and privacy law.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR, national supervisory authority guidance, and EDPB recommendations.
• Understanding of artificial‑intelligence technologies and their legal implications.
• Solution‑oriented mindset with solid project‑management abilities.
