Principal Infrastructure Engineer (Remote)

About the role

Sezzle is looking for a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, operate, and scale the platform that powers its fintech and retail solutions. This senior technical leader will tackle the toughest infrastructure challenges, improving throughput, latency, resilience, and cost efficiency as the business grows.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, prototype, implement, and roll out complex infrastructure initiatives on AWS.
• Increase system throughput, reduce latency, and eliminate capacity bottlenecks.
• Strengthen platform resilience and automate production operations.
• Own on‑call rotation, incident response, and post‑mortem remediation.
• Develop AI‑assisted SRE tooling for incident investigation, capacity analysis, and run‑book automation.
• Write production‑grade code and infrastructure‑as‑code, and debug high‑traffic systems.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or site reliability engineering.
• Proven ability to lead large‑scale technical projects from design to production.
• Strong analytical skills for hypothesis testing using logs, metrics, and traces.
• Hands‑on incident management experience, including major outage recovery.
