Principal Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

Salesforce is seeking a Principal Forward Deployed Engineer to lead the design, build, and deployment of complex agentic AI solutions directly inside enterprise customer environments. You will partner with Deployment Strategists, mentor engineers, and set engineering standards for AI at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of agentic AI solutions, from architecture decisions through production handoff.
• Design and ship agent logic, tool calls, multi‑agent orchestration, and deterministic guardrails on the Agentforce platform.
• Manage the data lifecycle, including model design, processing pipelines, and data readiness across Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, Databricks, and customer platforms.
• Resolve critical technical blockers such as data integration failures, model deployment issues, and performance regressions.
• Build performance dashboards and KPI reporting to monitor deployment health and business outcomes.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and reusable asset creation.
• Provide field insights to Product and Engineering to influence the Agentforce roadmap.

Required profile

• 6+ years of software engineering or technical delivery experience in enterprise AI, cloud, or SaaS environments.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Expertise in at least one of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex.
• Hands‑on experience integrating LLMs into production using frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Strong background in data modeling, processing, and analytics on platforms like Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, or Databricks.
• Deep knowledge of the Salesforce platform (Agentforce, Apex, LWC, Flows, APIs).
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on fast, impactful delivery and sound judgment.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.
