About the role

The post‑doctoral fellow will join the SAINBIOSE laboratory at Mines Saint‑Étienne to work on the TwinHeart project, developing a multi‑scale digital twin of the aorta under LVAD support. The research aims to predict vascular stiffening, pulse‑wave velocity changes and downstream cardiac remodeling.

Key responsibilities

Develop biomechanical models of aortic wall response to LVAD‑induced loading, calibrated with in‑vivo imaging and histology.
Implement growth‑and‑remodeling (G&R) frameworks to simulate fibrotic and aneurysmal transformations.
Identify safe implantation zones and generate patient‑specific LVAD placement guidelines.

Required profile

PhD in mechanics, biomechanics or a closely related field.
Good knowledge of computational methods for mechanics and biomechanics.
Experience in developing computational models and interest in coding.

Required skills

Computational mechanics / biomechanics modeling.
Multi‑scale modelling.
Machine learning applied to biomechanical data.
Programming (front‑end and back‑end development preferred).
