M&A Trainee – Investment Banking Internship

About the role

Join Haitong Bank's Paris Representative Office as an M&A Trainee and support the execution of cross‑border investment banking transactions. You will work closely with senior bankers to generate new business, analyse markets and assist in deal execution.

Key responsibilities

• Gather market, competitor and growth data to support business development.
• Review company fundamentals and financial statements.
• Assist in the execution of buy‑side and sell‑side mandates, including preparation of information memorandums and management presentations.
• Perform financial analysis, financial modelling and valuations.
• Manage data‑room documentation and coordinate with internal teams.
• Participate in deal sourcing by conducting market, strategic and competitive analyses and screening industries for potential targets or buyers.

Required profile

• Fluency in English, Chinese and French.
• Previous experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, private equity or transaction services at reputable firms.
• Strong writing, organisational and analytical abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, capable of autonomous work and performing under pressure.
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality and integrity.
• Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills.
