Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

About the role

amo is looking for a Lead Site Reliability Engineer in Paris. In the first months you will work closely with the founding team and gradually take ownership of central components, as the company prepares for a major increase in traffic. The focus is on performance and reliability, with latency as the key metric, and automation is central to the approach.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead the long-term infrastructure vision and roadmap, guiding a small team of SRE engineers and fostering a culture of reliability, ownership and technical excellence.
• Design and maintain distributed databases at large scale across multiple clusters (ScyllaDB), and test and scale high-throughput monitoring infrastructure handling 1M+ series per second.
• Automate everything from monitoring dashboards to database installation and cluster management, including an automated Kubernetes Pod Autoscaler.
• Work closely with software engineers and partners such as GCP, ScyllaDB and Redpanda to bring code into production.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and introduce new tools to help the company grow faster.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of system architecture and software development.
• Proven success scaling high-traffic production environments with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and influence cross-functional teams.
• Pragmatic, hands-on, and comfortable moving between strategy and execution.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one low-level language, ideally Rust or Go.
• Strong knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, with strong proficiency in AWS and/or GCP.
