Java UI Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Java UI Developer to join the Java Framework team at Siemens Digital Industries Software. You will help shape the client‑side experience of Simcenter STAR‑CCM+, delivering intuitive desktop and cloud solutions for a global user community.

Key responsibilities

• Design, document and build robust, extensible Java‑based client software.
• Implement new features and refactor existing code in the Simcenter STAR‑CCM+ Java client.
• Collaborate with colleagues using Jira, Confluence, Git and Bitbucket.
• Work closely with UX and vertical teams to create efficient user workflows.
• Perform peer‑based design and code reviews in a modern IDE.
• Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests.
• Navigate a large code base consisting of hundreds of modules and millions of lines of code.
• Travel occasionally for in‑person collaboration.

Required profile

• Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of post‑academic software design and development experience.
• Experience building client‑server desktop applications for Linux and Windows.
• Strong knowledge of modern Java language features.
• Experience developing Java clients with Swing/NetBeans or a comparable framework.
• Ability to work with large, legacy code bases and large‑scale data sets.
• Proficiency with Git version control and Jira issue management.
• Clear, concise communication of technical concepts.
