AI Integration & Automation Engineer – Customs (Lyon)

About the role

Customs Support Group, the European leader in customs services, is looking for an AI Integration & Automation Engineer to develop and customise AI solutions for its customs operations in France. You will work closely with operations, transformation, IT and group teams to turn business needs into reliable, production‑grade AI agents that support document understanding, classification and multi‑step workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype, test and deploy generative‑AI and large‑language‑model solutions that automate customs documentation and tariff processes.
• Own the end‑to‑end evaluation framework, defining success metrics, monitoring performance, inference cost and latency.
• Manage pilots, set clear criteria for scaling or terminating projects, and ensure compliance with EU AI Act, privacy and security standards.
• Collaborate with local teams, group functions and technology partners to integrate AI services into production pipelines.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in AI or intelligent automation engineering, with production‑grade code ownership.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English to work with customs experts.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• SQL for data handling.
• Integration of large language models (prompt design, retrieval‑augmented generation, structured output).
• Experience with a major cloud AI platform (Azure AI, AWS Bedrock or Google Vertex).
• Full‑stack backend fundamentals: APIs, data pipelines, testing and CI/CD.
