International Legal Counsel (M/F)

About the role

We are seeking an International Legal Counsel to join the in‑house legal team of a prestigious Swiss‑based academic institution. The role is fully remote and reports directly to the General Counsel in Switzerland, supporting a multicultural organization with global reach.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including sales, research collaborations, sponsorship, donor and consultancy contracts.
• Prepare legal memoranda, guidelines and internal policies for various business units.
• Design and roll out standardized legal templates and streamline supplier onboarding processes.
• Maintain organized legal filing systems and ensure easy accessibility.
• Develop and deliver compliance and data‑protection training for staff and faculty.
• Support the institution’s data‑protection compliance in line with evolving global regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Law (Continental European system); European bar admission is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with strong commercial exposure; in‑house experience preferred but law‑firm background accepted.
• Experience in procurement and contract management is advantageous.
• Solid understanding of data‑protection law and global regulatory trends.
• Proven ability to work remotely in an international, multicultural environment.
