Flight Control System Designer – UpNext Programme

About the role

Airbus UpNext is looking for a Flight Control System Designer to join a high‑stakes R&T demonstrator programme. Based in Toulouse (Saint‑Martin) with regular travel to Cazaux, the role is a limited‑term contract linked to the demo delivery (expected until July 2029). You will work in a flat, fast‑paced project organisation, collaborating closely with program managers and technical work‑package leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Define and validate flight control system functions and interfaces with actuators.
• Develop and implement flight control system specifications and software.
• Perform validation and verification of the software using modelling tools.
• Contribute to safety analyses, V&V activities, and the Permit‑to‑Fly dossier.
• Coordinate with flight control laws and actuator teams throughout the project.

Required profile

• Aeronautical engineer with significant experience in flight‑control system design and software development.
• Proven background in validation and verification of flight‑control software.
• Strong knowledge of overall flight‑control system architecture.
• Ability to work autonomously, adapt to evolving tasks, and be accountable for deliverables.
• Fluent English (mandatory).

Required skills

• Proficiency with specification tools such as Matlab Simulink.
• Experience in developing and updating flight‑control software.
• Competence in software V&V processes and issue reporting.
