Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join a French banking group on an initial six‑month fixed‑term contract. The role sits within the Finance department and is responsible for core financial control and reporting, with a focus on Net Banking Income (PNB) analysis for both local management and head office.

Key responsibilities

• Produce, analyse and report Net Banking Income, breaking performance down by business line and product.
• Own month‑end close, P&L and balance‑sheet production, including related reconciliations.
• Deliver accurate management and statutory reporting to local stakeholders and head office in accordance with French GAAP and group reporting standards.
• Support head‑office and regulatory reporting requirements and deadlines.
• Investigate variances and partner with business units to explain performance drivers.
• Help strengthen processes and improve the integrity of financial controls.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or French equivalent).
• Strong financial control experience within banking or financial services.
• Demonstrable expertise with Net Banking Income (PNB) analysis and reporting.
• Available immediately or on short notice.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
• French language proficiency and prior experience in a French banking group are an advantage.
