Engineering Internship: Development and Optimization of Electronic Boards for BMS Validation

About the role

This 6‑month engineering internship is part of NXP's R&D validation laboratory. You will work on the next generation of Battery Management System (BMS) products for electric vehicles, first learning existing validation tools and then designing PCB prototypes to automate and improve test procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Get familiar with NXP BMS products and the laboratory validation environment, including electronic boards, software programs, and user interfaces.
• Execute functional tests to acquire practical knowledge of the BMS hardware.
• Analyze current hardware solutions, define improvement axes, and design schematic and layout for one or more prototype PCBs.
• Integrate additional modules on the PCB, perform in‑situ testing of the prototype, and iterate based on results.
• Participate in team and project meetings, reporting progress and findings.

Required profile

• Master’s level (final year) in Electronics engineering or equivalent EEA university degree.
• Methodical mindset: rigorous, pragmatic, reactive and able to manage priorities.
• Good level of English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of PCB design tools (schematic capture and routing).
• Experience with analog electronics and electronic component selection.
• Proficiency in Python for test automation.
• Understanding of instrumentation and hardware validation processes.
