Consultant – Model Audit

About the role

Gridlines is looking for an experienced Model Audit Consultant to join its fast‑growing financial modelling practice. You will work with a team of modelling professionals to analyse, review and improve complex financial models, ensuring they are robust, accurate and aligned with commercial documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead model audit assignments, verifying arithmetic and commercial correctness.
• Use software checks and parallel model development to detect modelling errors.
• Interpret commercial documentation and ensure it is accurately reflected in the model.
• Take ownership of projects, driving high‑quality outcomes and continuous improvement of modelling methodologies.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation of assumptions, methodologies and results.
• Maintain meticulous records of modelling processes and support project planning, timelines and resource allocation.
• Train, motivate and manage junior team members on assignments.
• Communicate findings clearly to clients and internal stakeholders, simplifying complex issues for non‑technical audiences.
• Support client pitch development and contribute to client calls and relationship building.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of relevant experience in a financial role within a recognised advisory practice or large corporate.
• Strong understanding of accounting concepts; an accounting qualification is a plus.
• Good knowledge of Project Finance concepts.
• Degree in a numerate discipline; postgraduate qualification in accounting or finance is beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for building and operating financial models.
• Familiarity with the FAST financial modelling standard.
