Clinical Pathology & Histopathology Support Technician

About the role

The Clinical Pathology & Histopathology Support Technician will work closely with the Non‑Clinical Safety and Animal Science divisions, analysing biological samples, developing biomarker assays and providing technical support for histopathology workflows, including tissue processing and slide preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, check and prepare biological samples (blood, plasma, serum, urine) following established procedures.
• Perform biological analyses on automated hematology and clinical chemistry systems and verify data before release.
• Support histopathology activities: necropsy, tissue fixation, embedding, microtome/cryostat sectioning, routine and special staining, immunohistochemistry and RNAscope.
• Assist in drafting procedures, operating modes and equipment maintenance for both clinical biology and histopathology platforms.
• Participate in the development of new biomarker assay methods as needed.
• Digitise slides through scanning and manage the archiving of tissue samples and blocks.

Required profile

• Bac +2/3 IUT, BTS or equivalent professional degree.
• Ideally 5 years of experience in a bio‑analytical laboratory.
• Rigor, strong organisational skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Team‑spirit, good communication and proactive attitude.

Required skills

• EIA technique for biomarker assays.
• Use of automated hematology and clinical chemistry systems.
• Tissue processing skills: fixation, embedding, microtome and cryostat sectioning.
• Routine and special staining, immunohistochemistry and RNAscope.
• Slide digitisation (scanning) and sample archiving.
• Equipment maintenance for clinical biology and histopathology platforms.
