Business Segment Lead

About the role

Alan is building a global prevention insurance company that combines insurance, prevention and care. It splits the French market into business segments by client category (size or industry), and the Business Segment Lead aims to reach market leadership in their segment. The role is built on distributed ownership and works closely with Product, Insurance, Sales and Marketing teams, as well as other segment leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Build expertise on the market and competitive landscape, covering quantitative sizing and qualitative customer needs.
• Define the best product offering to lead in the segment, working with product teams.
• Shape the go-to-market strategy, including renewal (account management) and expansion (business development), and manage distribution channels, sub-segments and partners.
• Own the return on investment of the segment and build the case for internal resource allocation based on the P&L.
• Collaborate with other segment leaders to share best practices and align on a long-term value plan.

Required profile

• At least 8 years of experience leading a business (product category, business segment, etc.).
• Full working proficiency in French and at least an advanced level of English.
• Able to analyse and manipulate data to build a 360-degree view of the market, and to articulate clear strategies despite complexity.
• Prior experience working with senior leadership.
• Generalist self-starter, adaptable and willing to go on the field to support teammates.
• Based in, or willing to relocate to, Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Brussels, Madrid or Barcelona.
