Actuary (H/F) – Life Insurance

About the role

Credit Agricole Life Insurance Company Japan Ltd. (CALJ), a 100% subsidiary of Crédit Agricole Assurances, is looking for an actuary to join its actuarial department in Tokyo. CALJ was founded in 2007 and is growing its creditor protection insurance and savings businesses through a network of about 50 banking partners. The position is non-management, lasts 12 to 24 months and starts on 1 December 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Profitability monitoring: run ongoing monitoring, produce KPIs regularly, analyse them in depth, study internal and external experience data and market trends, and help optimise the process.
• Valuation and reserving (ESR, IFRS 17): contribute to IFRS and ESR valuation, calibrate technical and economic assumptions, and improve results analysis and documentation.
• Budgeting: contribute to the budgeting process and regular variance analysis against budget, and improve documentation.
• BAU and reporting: contribute to improving processes and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science (Bac+5 / M2 or higher).
• 0 to 2 years of experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Ability to build good working relationships, communicate well and work as a team member within CALJ and with the CAA International Business Unit.

Required skills

• MS Office tools (Excel, Access).
• Programming such as VBA, SQL, Python or other widely used languages.
• Actuarial software such as Prophet, MoSes, VIP or MG-ALFA.
• Experience analysing actuarial and financial model programming.
