AI Automation Engineer

About the role

We are seeking our first AI Automation Engineer to act as a technical force multiplier across C12, sitting at the intersection of IT, R&D and Operations. You will identify operational bottlenecks and solve them with intelligent, stateful AI workflows and autonomous agents built on self‑hosted LLM infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with R&D, IT Operations and Software teams to map workflows and design end‑to‑end AI systems.
• Deploy, maintain and optimise local LLM infrastructure (e.g., Ollama, vLLM) ensuring data security and research confidentiality.
• Build robust pipelines using workflow orchestration tools (Prefect, LangGraph, n8n) and Python‑based custom logic.
• Own the full lifecycle of internal tools, from opportunity identification to production‑ready deployment.
• Develop and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and API integrations for secure access to internal systems.
• Implement observability and feedback loops to monitor performance and reliability of automations.
• Integrate AI solutions with existing infrastructure (OVH cloud, Tailscale VPN, Ansible, Docker) on private servers.

Required profile

• Builder mindset with a portfolio of end‑to‑end AI or automation projects.
• Experience with workflow engines such as Prefect, LangGraph or n8n.
• Strong understanding of RAG, tool‑calling, prompt engineering and MCP concepts.
• Solid knowledge of cloud infrastructure, containerisation, GPU management and secure networking.
• Excellent communication skills to translate business problems into technical implementations for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Security‑first approach with awareness of data sovereignty and on‑premises constraints.
• Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast‑moving deep‑tech environment.
