Software Solution Developer – Industrial Robotics

About the role

Tata Technologies is seeking a Software Solution Developer to join its Industrial Robotics team in Toulouse. You will design, build, and optimise high‑performance software that integrates robots, automation controllers, and edge/cloud platforms for advanced manufacturing environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop robust software components and services that interface with industrial robots and automation systems.
• Implement integrations using IEC 61131, OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, Profinet and other fieldbus technologies.
• Participate in solution architecture discussions, ensuring compliance with functional safety and industrial standards.
• Own the full software lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with robotics, controls, and IT engineers to deliver integrated automation solutions.
• Apply secure coding practices, performance optimisation and maintainability standards.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities for reliability and scalability.
• Mentor junior developers on modern development tools and practices.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of industrial communication standards (IEC 61131, OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet, MQTT).
• Experience with robotic platforms such as cobots, AGVs/AMRs, vision systems or workcells.
• Proficiency in C#, Python, C++ and development of distributed or real‑time systems.
• Familiarity with IIoT, edge computing and cloud services (Azure, AWS).
• Knowledge of PLCs, safety‑related systems and functional safety standards (ISO 13849, IEC 62061) is a plus.
• Experience with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, containerisation and AI/ML for automation optimisation is desirable.
