Senior Solution Engineer (Pre-Sales)

About the role

Swan, an embedded banking specialist based in Paris, is hiring a Senior Solution Engineer in its Go-to-Market department. The role sits between Sales and Partner Delivery, working alongside Account Executives to turn enterprise prospects' business ideas into credible banking solutions. It is primarily pre-sales, reporting to the Head of Partner Delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives from discovery to technical win: understand the prospect's business model, use case, challenges, objectives, decision process, success criteria and existing systems, and shape the solution narrative.
• Handle technical objections, lead workshops, tailored demos and focused proofs of concept, and support technical qualification and enterprise due diligence.
• Design end-to-end solutions: map payment flows, onboarding journeys, APIs and integration dependencies, explain architecture and trade-offs, and document assumptions, limitations and phased implementation options.
• Identify regulatory and operational questions early, work with Compliance to assess the relevant framework, responsibilities and controls, and translate validated guidance into a clear setup for the prospect.
• Distinguish needs addressable through existing capabilities, configuration or integration design from genuine product gaps or questions requiring Compliance validation.
• Hand over agreed solutions and commitments for partner implementation, and occasionally lead assessment and kick-off of custom projects, clarifying scope, owners and dependencies.
• Share expertise by developing solution templates, demo scripts, FAQs and use-case guidance, delivering enablement sessions and giving feedback to Product.

Required profile

• Experience winning complex enterprise deals in a customer-facing technical role.
• Experience in fintech, payments, embedded banking or a related financial-services environment, comfortable with APIs and integration design.
• Able to lead discovery with business and technical stakeholders, explain trade-offs clearly and communicate confidently in English.
• Able to surface compliance or operational questions early, involve the right experts and avoid overpromising.
• Able to coordinate work across teams, clarify responsibilities and follow through while taking ownership.
