Senior Product Engineer

About the role

Spiko, founded in 2023, provides institutional-grade cash management to SMEs, non-profits, financial advisers and fintechs, issuing, operating and distributing its products itself. It is backed by Index Ventures, the CEO of Revolut and the CTO of Wise. Engineers own product decisions at Spiko; the Product Engineer owns a feature end to end, from scoping and architecture to implementation and production release. As a Senior Product Engineer, you also own one of Spiko's business areas and act as its main architect and default reviewer of every PR in it, mentoring junior team members.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer
• Excellent architecture and domain-modelling skills, with the habit of writing decisions down
• Fluent with AI coding tools, directing energy toward product and architecture decisions
• Product judgment: enjoys talking to users, knows what to build and what to cut, and can explain why
• Comfortable working in an English-speaking environment
• Curious, pragmatic and eager to learn

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, capital markets, Web3 or other highly regulated environments
• Prior product ownership as a founder, product manager or de facto product owner
• Hands-on experience with Effect or functional programming in TypeScript

Hiring process: 30-minute screening call, 30-minute interview with the hiring manager, 1-hour coding interview, 1-hour product interview, 2-hour system design interview in person, final in-person interviews with the founders, and reference checks.
