Nano-assembly Lead

About the role

You will lead the nano‑assembly team of three research engineers, developing and operating custom vacuum setups that transfer ultra‑pure carbon nanotubes onto quantum‑processor microchips. The position sits in C12’s Paris lab, working at the forefront of quantum‑computing hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously improve custom nano‑assembly vacuum setups to increase throughput and yield.
• Design and validate mechanical, electrical and chemical processes that optimise qubit assembly quality.
• Collaborate with the software team to enhance control software, data storage and analysis pipelines.
• Analyse, summarise and present experimental data to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years R&D experience or a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, Materials Science or a related field.
• Experience managing R&D engineers and organising their work.
• Project‑management experience in a research or engineering environment.
• Hands‑on experience designing and fabricating hardware and experimental setups.
• Strong data‑collection, organisation and analysis skills.
• Proficiency in Python for hardware control and data analysis.
• Detail‑oriented with solid documentation habits.
• Fluent English communication, both oral and written.
