Internal IT / DevOps Engineer

About the role

Murena builds privacy-respecting mobile and cloud products, including /e/OS, a de-Googled Android OS, and Murena Workspace, a Nextcloud-based cloud suite. It is a fully remote, multicultural team with mostly open-source work. This Internal IT / DevOps Engineer position is based in France, full-time and fully remote, with flexible hours, and starts as soon as possible and no later than early 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, administer and maintain the software used internally
• Set up and maintain SSO (OIDC / SAML) across internal tools and streamline onboarding and offboarding
• Build and maintain automation and CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, and write Bash and Python scripts to automate recurring tasks
• Set up and maintain AI-assisted automation tools (OpenClaw / Hermes)
• Manage the VPNs giving the team access to the infrastructure
• Deploy and operate security monitoring (Wazuh): agents, alerts and incident follow-up
• Contribute to the security of internal systems: access control, patching and hardening

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in IT operations, DevOps or system administration
• Hands-on experience with SSO protocols (OIDC and SAML)
• Experience deploying and administering internal tools, preferably self-hosted
• Experience managing VPNs (e.g. WireGuard or OpenVPN) and secure remote access
• Experience with security monitoring tools such as Wazuh and a solid grounding in IT security practices
• Fluent written and spoken English (mandatory)
• Experience working in a remote team

Required skills

• CI/CD and automation, GitLab preferred
• Scripting in Bash and Python
• Nice to have: Keycloak, AI agent or workflow automation tools, open-source contributions
