About the role
Alstom is seeking an enthusiastic General Studies Computer Aided Designer (CAD) to join its Crespin site in France. The role focuses on creating 2D train layouts and initial 3D allocations that support the mechanical architecture of our rolling stock.
Key responsibilities
- Produce complete batches of train and car layouts.
- Develop space allocation models (M1 for macro elements, M1‑M3 for dynamic elements such as bogies, inter‑car connections, gangways, and front noses).
- Validate DMU content at project start against train layout specifications.
- Provide tolerancing inputs for infrastructure interface stack‑up.
- Assess feasibility of new mechanical developments during tender phases.
- Support weight and gauge studies on demand.
Required profile
- Advanced technician certificate or engineering school degree (targeted at junior candidates).
- Basic proficiency in reading, writing and participating in technical English meetings.
- Ability to handle multiple subjects throughout the day with rigor and agility.
- Experience in interiors/mechanics or cabin design is a plus.
Required skills
- Proficiency with CATIA.
- Knowledge of the CATIA Kinematics module (preferred).
