Backend Software Engineer, User Safety

About the role

amo is looking for its first Software Engineer, User Safety Tooling, to join its User Safety team in Paris. As an engineer on this team you will design and build internal systems that protect users, support data collection and ensure compliance with global regulations. You will work closely with the User Safety lead to create the infrastructure that keeps the community safe.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, efficient and robust trust and safety platforms and tools, including data tracking pipelines.
• Develop systems that improve data collection, compliance and safety processes.
• Create APIs and integrations with third-party services.
• Build intelligent workflows, including automating complex decision-making processes.
• Align platforms with product objectives and operational needs.
• Ensure safety services have zero downtime and can scale as the user base grows.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in trust and safety tooling or content moderation systems.
• Great communication and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated passion for user safety, human moderation, AI moderation and operational efficiency.

Required skills

• Proficiency in designing data structures, building algorithms and at least one programming language (Go, Kotlin, C or C++)
• Preferred: web development and frontend technologies, familiarity with online safety regulations such as the DSA, experience with machine learning models and data pipelines
