Freelance Accountant – English‑Speaking (Remote, France)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced freelance accountant to provide ongoing accounting support for a fast‑growing niche fragrance house based in Paris. The role is long‑term, retained and paid on a fixed monthly fee, with the primary language of communication being English.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee bookkeeping and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
• Manage VAT filings and other tax‑related obligations for a French company.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with French statutory requirements and support annual audit processes.
• Provide practical business advice as the company scales.

Required profile

• Based anywhere in France and fluent in French.
• Strong professional English (spoken and written).
• Experience with French SMEs, startups or e‑commerce businesses.
• Proactive, responsive and comfortable working remotely.
• Ability to attend occasional in‑person meetings in Paris if needed.
