Aeronautical Systems Safety Engineer – Referent

About the role

Join ATR’s Engineering Directorate to lead safety analyses for all aircraft systems, following ARP 4754(A) and ARP 4761 guidelines. You will work closely with system designers and certification authorities to ensure compliance and airworthiness.

Key responsibilities

• Write, update and approve system safety analyses (FHA, PSSA, SSA).
• Define safety requirements for equipment and system suppliers.
• Conduct discussions with certification authorities and attend project review meetings.
• Update existing safety documentation and support airworthiness assessments of in‑service events.
• Provide justification for Time Limits documents to the scheduled maintenance service.

Required profile

• Significant experience in aircraft certification and knowledge of JAR/FAR/CS 25, CS‑E, CS‑P.
• In‑depth understanding of CS/AMC 25.1309, ARP 4754(A) and ARP 4761.
• Proficiency in system safety analyses, fault‑tree modeling, common‑cause analysis (ZSA, PRAs, CMA) and FMEA/FMESE.
• Ability to work autonomously, communicate with multicultural teams and fluency in English and French (Italian a plus).

Required skills

• ARP 4754(A) and ARP 4761 methodology.
• CS/AMC 25.1309 compliance.
• Fault‑tree and dependence‑diagram software (e.g., SARAA).
• FHA, PSSA, SSA, ZSA, PRAs, CMA, FMEA/FMESE.
• Equipment reliability calculations and aircraft systems architecture knowledge.
