Lecturer or Senior Lecturer – Teaching & Research in Law

About the role

UNSW Law & Justice is seeking a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) to join the School of Global and Public Law. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research and engagement across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, focusing on public law, administrative law, constitutional law and law in the global context.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and develop courses for LLB, JD and LLM programmes, including core modules such as Global Common Law Systems and Legal Concepts.
• Maintain an active individual research agenda and publish in leading law journals.
• Participate in the School’s research culture, supervise postgraduate students and contribute to academic events.
• Engage with external partners and professional bodies to enhance the faculty’s impact.

Required profile

• Doctorate in law or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in public law, administrative law, federal constitutional law or international law.
• Proven record of high‑quality teaching at the university level.
• Strong commitment to social justice, human rights and community engagement.

Required skills

• Academic research and scholarly writing.
• Curriculum design and assessment.
• Effective communication of complex legal concepts.
