Lead Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Lead Mechanical Engineer (Mechanical Supervisor) will oversee mechanical installations across all relevant systems on construction sites, ensuring they meet approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards. You will work closely with subcontractors, internal teams, and HSE personnel to keep projects on schedule and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise mechanical installations, verifying compliance with drawings, specs, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate daily planning, task sequencing, and resource allocation with subcontractors.
• Track daily progress, conduct visual inspections, and manage system interfaces and area readiness.
• Support implementation of project HSE policies and intervene when unsafe practices are observed.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience supervising mechanical construction, preferably in industrial environments.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) and French (written and spoken).
• Experience with large‑scale HVAC, piping or plant installations; data‑center experience is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, ductwork, pipework, insulation, drainage and air‑handling systems.
• Understanding of site safety practices and construction coordination principles.
• Basic proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with construction coordination platforms is a plus.
